Marc Heyison, President and Founder of Men Supporting Women with Cancer brings energy and passion in sharing his personal story of how breast cancer forever changed his life in 1992 with the utterance of the 5 most horrific words he had ever heard, “Your mother has breast cancer.”
As his mom is still here celebrating life, her courage has inspired him in becoming a leading, national voice on the critical and vital role of male caregiving. She is also the driving force behind his battle against breast cancer and to create his third non-profit, Men Supporting Women with Cancer.
Marc, a former professional baseball player with the Baltimore Orioles, relied on the same traits that helped him to succeed in his athletic career – tireless determination, perseverance, and absolute refusal to quit in becoming an advocate in the battle against breast cancer, and ultimately, in helping men be there for the women they love.
